my life — my way

Crystal City - 2008 MCM

Greg described Crystal City as a magical place where the streets are lined with angels bearing food. What wonderful people they were! After getting over the bridge we were both hungry. Really hungry. Thoughts of McDonald's filled my brain. Looking back, that's kinda sad that McDonald's was what I was thinking about and not something nice like Ruth's Chris Steak House. Oh well, it is what it is.

When we got to Crystal City there were lots of spectators on the side line. And they had food. No hamburgers or fries, but we were really happy with what they had. Pretzels, gummy bears, peanut butter cookies, candy. It was great. I started to look out for food people and grab a handful of stuff as I passed, then eat it as we walked.

The food was nice. It was really nice, but it wasn't the best part of Crystal City. The best part of Crystal City was the beer. Just like the people handing out food, there were people handing out paper cups of beer. I don't know what type of beer it was, I just know that I drank a cup when we got there. When we turned around the beer people came to our side of the street and offered us some more beer. I partook of four more cups and enjoyed the rest of the run (walk).
