DC Mall - 2008 MCM

In 2006 the DC Mall was a glorious place. It was close to mile 10, which is a good place for a little boost. In 2006 the Mall was crowded with lots of people cheering the runners on and giving us a little boost. That's what we were all looking forward to.

It kinda sucked when we got to the Mall and there wasn't anyone there to cheer us on. It kinda really sucked, because we were expecting a glorious crowd and didn't even get crickets.

Not only was there no crowds, but because they changed the course, the Mall started at mile 16. That's definitely a place where the runners need a boost. Some would go so far as to say mile 16 is the beginning of the worst part in a marathon. Some would even call it the start of the wall. That's because mile 16 sucks. Especially where there's no one there to encourage you.
