Finish Line - 2008 MCM
|
The finish was wonderful!!! I think it has something to do with being finished and not having to run anymore. After walking a bit in Crystal City, Greg and I decided to walk a little bit more. We ended up walking to mile 25, and then ran it the rest of the way. It was a slow run. Some people might even say that our run was s slow as our walk. Those people would be correct, but that's OK because we were still going forward. Actually, there was one part that Greg did backwards, because he's hard core! Beefcake!!! |

The actual finish line was enh. There weren't many people out to cheer us on. I'm not sure why spectators didn't stay out for six and a half hours, but they didn't. Their loss I guess. The setup for the finish area was typical for the Marine Corps Marathon – FUBAR. It's a shame that they can put on such a good marathon, then be completely unorganized at the end. |

I was able to get a decent picture of the Marine awarding Greg his medal. It was nice not having anyone behind us in the shoots waiting to get a medal. After getting the medals we went out and found Olga and everyone else. She had finished about an hour before us, but was nice enough to stick around. That was extra good, because she drove. |
