Confident Patience

A few months ago I was playing with some finger picking on my guitar. Just pickin and grinnin. Olga heard it and said she thought it sounded nice. Thus was born the inspiration for this song.

I ended up not using the finger picking in the recording. I wasn't happy with the recording quality (too much finger noise and the notes weren't clear enough).

I did end up keeping the main chord structure. I also threw in a chrod progression from my 'first' song - Fur Misheep (or something like that).

The working name was 'Silent Snow', because I started it back when it was snowing and everything looked peaceful and calm. When Olga heard the finished product she suggested that it sounded confident and patient. Hmmm, I wonder if I should give her credits for the title...

Sunshine

Finished on Aug 27, 2006
3 mins 51 secs — 4.4 megs

Olga inspired me to write and record this song. I spent a few months getting everything finished. Most of the time was spent complaining about my singing ability to Olga. I finally got the song to a point where I am happy with it. So is Olga, so it's all good.

Kockin on Heaven's Door

Written by Bob Dylan
Rythm, Lead Guitars, Vocals by Chris Cohoon
Harmonica and Rythm Guitar by Greg Cohoon
Keyboards - yarbiedoll

Finished on Jan 1, 2004
5 mins 25 secs — 6.2 megs

This is a song that the three of us recorded a few months ago. It was a lot of fun to hang out and record with these people. Greg did a great job with the harmonica playing.

This was a live recording. We only used one track and none of that puching in and out stuff. I hope to redo this song using different tracks. That way I'll be able to mix it better (up the keyboards and vocals) and I'll make a better guitar solo at the end (maybe use my electric).

Love Eternal

I wrote this song back in college. I was originally just trying to make an exercise for my left hand. It turned into this song, which some people really love.

The original title was Jim's Jam. I named it that because I had a roommate named Jim. He was a player hard core. He used to use this song to get the girls in the mood. It's a really great song for that.

Iused to play the song in church a lot. Not during the services or anything. I would just sneak in when no one else was using the sanctuary and play. One of the members commented that it was a great son. He asked the name and I told him I hadn't named it yet because I was embarrased to tell him the real name. So he said Moonbeams On Fallen Snow. I have to admit that his title is really good, so that's the title I give people now.

One note: middle C. hahaha, get it? OK, a serious note: there's some dead space at the end of the mp3. There's nothing hidden at the end. I just screwed up when I created the mp3. Take that quiet time to reflect on the ways of the mystic woodchuck.
